The Beta LaserMike LaserSpeed® sensor was one of the first non-contact length and speed gauges on the market. Since then it has set the standard for innovation, accuracy, reproducibility, versatility and reliability. The LaserSpeeds are successful in the accurate and precise measurement of length and speed and now more than 8,000 sensors in various production environments worldwide. LaserSpeed has proven itself in numerous metal applications, including continuous casting, hot and cold strip, temper and skin pass, pipe and tube, bar and rod, coil and strip, extrusion and other processes. The LaserSpeed has no slip and measures faster than a traditional encoder. Measuring errors by dirt intake, wear of the measuring wheel, material compression, vibrations etc. can be prevented by using the non-contact BetaLasermike LaserSpeed.

The LaserSpeed is permanently calibrated and has no moving parts. With a repeatability of 99.98% the LaserSpeed is the best replacement for standard (measuring wheel) encoders.
